ピーマン饅頭

Bokstavlig översättning: Ångad bröd med paprikasmak, Steamed bread with pimento flavor ya'll!

Today when I got home after school me and my host mom made a very special Japanese sweet;
Peeman Manju!
Manju is a kind of bread-like sweet and you can flavor it with whatevaaaah!
We had an overload of pimento pepper at home so it was as simple as that,
"Let's make it with pimento pepper flavor!"

The inside is filled with a paste made with Adzuki beans (red beans), called anko. It's the classic japansese sweet bean paste that a lot of people have trouble eating... Haha. But I love it!

I took some pics while making it so I could show you! :)

Mixed pimento with sake, I'm about to mix it with the flour and baking powder (with my hands!)

Anko! Sweet red bean paste! ^_^
Like this...
Let the dough rest for 20 minutes and it will grow twice it's size (^_^)-v

Roll them like meatballs... Or not really. Take a piece of the dough, pretend you're making a mini pizza (i.e making it flat) and then fill it with anko and close it!
After that you just steam boil them for maybe 5-6 minutes and it's doooone!
こんなかんじです!

Haha, and it's good! To Fanny, who said it looked awful haha <3
